Terms of Service

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of cookingzone.org. By reading, browsing, commenting or otherwise using the site, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. Last updated September 2026.

Who May Use the Site

The site is intended for adults. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and never as a substitute for adult supervision around heat, knives, hot fat or pressure equipment.

What We Publish, and What It Is For

CookingZone publishes recipes, technique explainers and reference material for general information. Nothing here is professional advice. In particular, nothing on this site is medical, nutritional, dietary or food-safety advice for your specific circumstances, and no page should be treated as a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional. The limits of what we publish are set out in full in the Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Permitted Use of Our Content

All text, photography, illustrations, layout and code on this site are protected by copyright and remain the property of the publisher or of the contributors who licensed them to us.

You may:

  • Read, print and save pages for your own private, non-commercial use.
  • Cook from our recipes at home, and cook from them for friends, family and unpaid gatherings.
  • Quote a short extract with clear attribution and a working link back to the original page.

You may not, without written permission:

  • Republish an article or recipe in whole or in substantial part, on a website, in print, in an app or on social media, including in translated or lightly reworded form.
  • Copy our photographs, or crop, edit or overlay them and present the result as your own.
  • Use the content commercially, including in a paid course, a compiled recipe book, or a menu presented as your own development work.
  • Extract content in bulk by scraping, crawling for reproduction, or any automated harvesting, or use the content to build or train a derivative product.
  • Frame the site, remove attribution, or present our material in a way that implies we endorse you.

A recipe is a combination of a list of ingredients and a method. The method text, the headnotes, the explanations and the photographs are ours. Requests for permission go to [email protected] and are usually granted for reasonable, credited use.

Comments and Anything Else You Submit

You are responsible for what you post. By submitting a comment you confirm that it is yours to post, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that it is not unlawful, abusive, misleading or spam.

By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, reproduce and, where useful, quote your comment in connection with the site. You keep ownership of what you wrote.

We moderate. Comments may be edited for length or clarity, or removed entirely, and we are not obliged to explain a removal. Commercial promotion, links posted for search purposes, personal attacks, and dangerous instructions relating to food safety are removed on sight.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to interfere with the site or the servers that carry it. That includes attempting to gain unauthorized access, probing for vulnerabilities, sending automated request volumes that degrade service for others, circumventing security or access controls, or introducing malicious code.

Advertising and Third-Party Links

Advertising appears on these pages and is selected by automated systems rather than chosen by our editors. Adverts are not endorsements. We do not vet the products or claims in them, and any transaction you enter with an advertiser is entirely between you and that advertiser.

We link to outside sources, producers and reference material because they are useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices.

No Warranty

The site is provided as it is and as it is available. We work hard to be accurate, we test what we publish, and we correct what we get wrong, but we do not warrant that every page is free of error, that the site will always be available, or that a recipe will produce a particular result in your kitchen with your ingredients and your equipment.

Ovens differ, ingredients vary by season and region, and results depend on execution. Cooking involves heat, sharp tools, allergens and raw ingredients, and you carry the responsibility for handling them safely.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, from reliance on anything published here, or from any interaction with an advertiser or a linked third party.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the publisher against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, from anything you submit to the site, or from your use of our content beyond what is permitted above.

Suspension and Termination

We may restrict or block access to the site, or remove any material you submitted, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached. Provisions on intellectual property, warranties, liability and indemnity survive any such termination.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms as the site changes or as the law does. The current version always sits on this page with the date it was last updated. Continued use after a revision means you accept the revised terms.

General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the Disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and us regarding the site. Questions go to [email protected].
